Newtonhill Eco House, Glenlivit Aberdeenshire

Newtonhill House replaces a dilapidated dwelling and workshop with a contemporary retirement home designed around landscape, longevity and panoramic views towards the North Sea.

Drawing inspiration from traditional local forms and roofscapes, the design combines white render, slate roofing and natural materials with a series of bold projecting windows that frame key views and bring light deep into the home.

Designed for comfort, accessibility and long-term adaptability, the house incorporates high-performance low-energy construction including ICF walls, triple glazing and an airtight insulated envelope.

The result is a contemporary home that respects its rural Aberdeenshire setting while confidently expressing a modern architectural identity.
