Brae House

Planning Approved Green Belt Replacement Dwelling

Brae House is a high-performance SIPS home designed for low-energy, low-maintenance living in a sensitive South Lanarkshire Green Belt setting

Positioned modestly on the brow of the hill, the five-bedroom house combines black metal cladding and natural stone to create a restrained architectural form that sits comfortably within the landscape while capturing long-distance views.

The planning approved design is based around the principles of lifetime living. The house integrates solar PV, advanced insulation, airtight construction and renewable energy technologies to minimise running costs and operational carbon. The aim is a net-positive home capable of generating more energy than it consumes over the course of a year.

The images below illustrate early concept sketches that contained an accurate seed to develop the design from.
